Cage Screens???

Hey all,

I'm thinking about building some more cages, but I'm going to look for other options for screen other than aluminum standard window screens. I just hate seeing my cham's lose toenails.

Does anyone know of a good place that caries are large variation of screens?

I'm trying to find diamond shaped screens that are more heavy duty than charcoal aluminum screens. Also, they need to be large enough that my cham's wont lose toenails, but small enough that my feeder insects won't get out of. I know what I'm looking for, but I just don't know where to get it.

This stuff!!:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Kelsey

Been there - no luck. I'm looking for specialty screens. The kind you can't find at a common store. I guess "screens" probably isn't the appropriate word for what I'm looking for. More like "wire mesh" or "wire cloth" coated in plastic and in a diamond shape.

Thanks anyways.

There are some new soft "pet screens" on the market the past few years. There is even I saw recently with a lifetime guarantee against cats and dogs. Maybe crickets and superworms could not chew through.

IMO though- if your chams are loosing to nails from climbing on the screen, you may very well have other things going on with the environment in the enclosure or size of the enclosure or something that is making them want to climb on the screen. I can't even recall the last time I saw any of my adults on the walls or ceilings. Babies are a little different...

They rarely climb on the screens. Mostly if they've just been handled, or when a female is hunting around for an nesting spot. But they still end up with missing toenails - not bad, just a little. Either way, I still don't want it.

And I'm not looking for a soft screen, but a heavy duty screen.

Thanks-

This stuff!!!

This is the stuff i'm looking for. A good, hardy, bug keeping, lizard protecting, non rust able screen.
