Cage Side Covers

OK so I have a misting system and a dripper in my screen cage for my cham. My problem is whenever it mists or drips its gets all over its wooden stand and the wooden floor. I know I could use shower curtain but I don't hav any old ones that are not in use. And other easy way I can cover the sides? Thanks!

I use the plastic covers for florescent lights is perfect 2 x 2 x 4 in lighting areas of lowes or home Depot

I got a shower curtain for like $3 at the dollar store and it works well, especially with my changing moods! First I had it on the floor, then I was able to wrap it around the smaller cage, and just recently I cut it up and staple it into the side panels of me newer, bigger wooden cage. Works pretty well if you are cheap and indecisive! I also know of people using rubber mats like you would for shoes or in cars... the ones that hold the water without getting gross. They just place them on the floor around the cage.

I personally find it easier to prevent the water from getting out of the sides rather than catching all of the over-misting.

In addition to the plastic on two sides, I have a kitty litter bag around the bottom for extra protection. last week, I just bought a drainage tray [for washing machine, $20 at Home depot] that I have yet to put under it.

My cage sits on a wooden table, to protect it my husband made a larger top out of boards to sit on top of the table (I put a towel between to keep from scratching table top) I stapled the board topper with a decorative vinyl tablecloth that had a pattern that looked nice and it is large enough to keep the water off the floor also. Works for me.

how about those fish tank backgrounds they sell at pet stores? I think i might pick one up myself tp help keep humidity up, I'm going to try to mind a rain forest background rather than a water one for fish though.

I use the painter's plastic rolls from home depot, it's easy to wrap around 3 sides and attach with packing tape.
The tape sticks surprisingly well to the plastic and frame of aluminium cages.
If you have a wood frame cage you can just staple it.
It's possible to pull it tight and get a nice clean look, then just trim the excess with a utility knife or scissors.
This stuff has a million uses for chameleon keepers, I make disposable drain tables, visual barriers, cage wraps, free range wall lining etc.etc.

I use white corrugated plastic between all of my enclosures (more than 30 of them!) It contains water, blocks my chameleons from seeing one another, is lightweight, brightens the enclosures because it is white, and is quite inexpensive and easy to cut to the desired size. It is just like cardboard but it is made out of plastic. You can find it at Lowes in the sign (For Sale, No Trespassing, etc) area because some people use it to make their own signs. It costs me $7.99 for a 3'x4' piece. If it is smooshed between two enclosures it needs nothing else to hold it in place. Otherwise, I use a pair of super strong coin-sized magnets (one inside the enclosure and one on the outside of the plastic board) to hold it onto the side of the screen or glass enclosure. You could even put a piece under the screen enclosure if you are still concerned about water on the table or you could cut it to fit along the screen INSIDE of your enclosure. I also use it to divide larger enclosures (glass and screen) into two compartments to house two of my babies in one enclosure. I call it a duplex!

I LOVE THE STUFF!!:LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:

I know someone who makes cages out of it.
