Cage Size for 3-4 Month Old Panther Chameleon

I just bought a 3-4 month old panther chameleon that I should be receiving soon. I have a 2'x2'x4' cage. Now, I know that is too big but I have a way of dividing my cage to make it smaller. The width and length will still be 2 feet but how tall should the cage be? I was thinking maybe 18" so it would be 2'x2'x18".
What do you guys think?

I don't really prescribe to the cage too big philosophy the world is a big place, and in the wild they are in the whole outside. I just keep their food in a feeder cup so they can get to it easier. But if you want to shorten it up I would go a little bigger than 18" I would go with 30"- 36."They are an arboreal species and love to go up. I hope this is of help.:)

I personally don't believe it is too big at all for a 3-4 month old panther chameleon. I cup fed my guy at that age to monitor his eating, but soon realized he was able to catch the free ranging crickets on his own as long as enough branches/vines/foilage are provided.

Here is my guy at 3-4 months old.

Ok, thanks so much! I may shorten it up for a little while, and when he gets a little bigger I'll let him use the whole cage. It's easy enough to do.
Thanks again for the advice! Hopefully he will be here in a few days. I'm very excited!
