hi i am planning to get my first vailed chameleon, i am looking a 2 cages but dont no weather a 72x42x72cm flexarium or a 72x42x122cm flexarium. this would be for the chams whole life, but if i dont need the larger one dont sugest it because there is a great price diffenence and im not made of money so if it is not really necesary please say.

cheers

obviously bigger is better for them but i've been told 24 to 36 inches for width and 36 to 48 inches high is a good minimum.

I have my female in a 18x18x36 she is just over a year. I've heard females are ok in that size males must be in 24x24x36 or 48

That should be fine, I guess it also depends on how big your cham is full grown and males tend to be bigger than females. I would definately say 18x18x36 would be the minimum amount of space that would be adequate for a cham...maybe other people on the forum could give their opinion on this measurement?

ok so i will go with the bigger one. thanks guys, do you think you could get some pics of your cages on?

I was also wondering if it is really necassary to have a msaller cage when they are young or can you just get a bigger one that they stay in their whole lives?

thanks

I wouldn't go no bigger then 18x18x36 for a baby chams and that's with a lot of plants in it. My panther was 3 months when I got him and I put him in the cage 18x18x36 with 2 umbrella plants and a ficus just to make sure if he fell he would land on a tree.
