Cage Table/Stand Suggestions

I need to build a stand or small table to fit a 2X2X4. I was thinking just a basic sheet of plywood with 4 legs with some stabilizing beams, maybe even make a shelf on the bottom to put all my sups? :) anyway if anyone has a DIY that they have, if you could throw some pics up for some brainstorming I would appreciate it.

I would build minee out of 2x4s make it square with deck building supplies to hold it together without the plywood on top so I could make some kind of draining and a 4x4 in each corner as legs... in that case you probably wouldn't need the deck supplies. I would use plywood on the bottom as support from wobbling and as a shelf, perhaps another shelf in the middle?

I came up with this as I typed... hopefully its useful or can help you come up with some ideas:)

do you have Ikea by you? They have these side tables that hold the cages perfectly. They are a little smaller than the cage and they hang over a little on each side but they stay secure . Mine are black and they might come in other colors. $9.99. Can't beat the price. Here is a pic of mine to give you an idea from an old thread https://www.chameleonforums.com/new-cham-room-83281/

Thank you for you ideas :) I like the ikea tables a lot they look great, I do have an Ikea a few minutes down the freeway what is the name or item number of those tables so I know what to look for?

Going on the Ikea idea, this is what me and my dad did.

we bought this stand along with one wire basket for storage and one to collect water in, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10177630/

then we went to lowes and bought a 26inx26in plywood board to set the cage on. We then mounted the rack on it. Then installed our drainage system.

Works great! :)

I whipped this up in about 40 minutes before work the other day

clear center of stand with holes in the bottom tray of cage for simple drainage system

I think I'll put a shower curtain or tarp between the cage and the stand.. and then put a bunch of holes in it to catch some of the water that runs down the sides when I get a little wild with my mistings... but so far this has been holding up as an easy little prop for my new 2x2x4 and will probably last until I actually go out and buy supplies to make a legitimate stand. Hope this helps (edit: also make sure u place ur plant or something heavy towards the middle so the water collects into your drainage holes)

thanks Froggie & Cstorm both great ideas they are really starting to get the creative juices flowing i like your drainage system froggie it looks simple and easy to clean :)

I saw this on dendroboards but I don't remember where. Snagged the picture to build one myself. It would be fairly easy to add shelves or change the dimensions to fit your needs. I believe the brackets are framing brackets.

Ikea in their kitchen counter section sells a 24" x 24" kitchen counter base for $38. Its just the base but it leave you the option how you what to customize it.

Thank! It is and it does work well. The red bucket is there because I find it easier to have the water collect in there b/c the white bucket is very precarious when I would take it out to dump it and I would end up spilling gross water on my carpet :(
