Cage temps

Hello all! I'm going to be getting a veiled chameleon soon ( he comes on Tuesday ) and I've been working on his terrarium for the past few days. ( also.. How does it look? Do I need to change anything? ) I took temperature samples of various parts of the cage and this is how they came out: do they look okay? Do i need to get a stronger / weaker bulb?
Note: this cage is an 18x18x36. He will be a younger juvenile and I'll switch him to a 48" when he gets to his adult size.

Looks great! Do you have feeders ready? Supplements? Where are you getting him from?

Yep! I've got crickets stocked up, just got some D3 calcium today so I can dust the crickets, feeding the crickets gutload / furits and veggies. Getting a few different types of bugs tommorow like worms or locusts. He's coming from Backwater reptiles. I've deffinetly heard some bad reviews from them but I've bought feeders and a ball python from them with no issues. I didn't really check the youtube rewiews because I want expecting such a negitive response so I am deffinetly worried to see what this experience will be like even though my past purchases from them had no problems

I did see someone get a Veiled from there that looked fresh out of the egg, so I would be careful. Do you have multivitamin and calcium without d3?

Oh yeah! I was curious about the calcium with d3? I've researched its purpose but didn't get a clear answer, what does it do? And I'm heading to a different pet store tommorow to get the mulivitamin, the store we went to did not have the one I was looking for :p

I got my veiled Cham when he was 1 month old, and he got dehydrated with the basking spot above at 90F. From personal experience I'd recommend you to cool down the basking spot to 85F. Your set up looks wonderful!

Thank you! I'll deffinetly try that!

I really recommend you to read the Veiled Chameleon caresheet in the resources "area". I learned all the basics there.

Also, I am no expert but what I know is that Vit D3 is needed to process calcium, and chams produce it themselves when exposed to UVB, that's why you need this kind of lamp. Right now I am following the caresheet recommendations to give my Cham supplements, almost everyday plain calcium, calcium with D3 every two weeks (since I use reptisun UVB light 5.0) and multivitamin every week, all from Rep-Cal (there are many brands)

Sweet! Thank you so much, all the vitamins and supplements are getting sort of confusing to me, I'll make sure to get a good grip on all of that stuff before he arrives!♡ thanks again

My understanding, as a beginner, is that you give them calcium without phosphorous and without D3 nearly every day, give them calcium with D3 twice per month, and give them a multivitamin twice per month (I alternate between using Herptivite and Reptivite, so use each once per month). I also gut load crickets with greens (dandelion greens, collard greens, endive, escarole, kale, and romaine lettuce), veggies (cucumber, zucchini, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, sweet red peppers, squash), and fruits (strawberries, raspberries, mango, apple, orange, blueberries).
