Calci Worms

I don't know what that's about.

But I think they're the same as phoenix worms. Good as a treat but not as a staple.

why phoenix worm is a treat base only?
I think it's a perfect staple feeders provided if your chams like them.
I feed my young veiled cham with phoenix worms as staple. They have a strong good bone :).

Hmm. I looked up their nutrition and I guess I was thinking of wax worms and their high fat content. Phoenix worms look good across the board. They're just really small and it would take a ton to feed an adult, if they would even pay attention to them. None of my panthers have ever shown interest in them, and only my veileds at 5 months or less.

I feed Phoenix worms regularly. Nearly all of my chams pick them out first--they really love them. I have a couple that are so picky that they hardly eat anything except for crickets and superworms. I highly recommend the Phoenix worms. I just ordered 8 more containers. I just wish that they were not so expensive!

They're good for small chams. But when I tried them again when my cham grew up, they didn't work. The calcium worms passed right through my chams digestive system and he pooped them out alive.

I've never used Phoenix worms before, but I have actually heard they are nutitrious as staple feeders and don't need calcium dusting.

If I could afford to and the chameleons liked the phoenix worm, I'd definitely use them as a staple food source. Say good bye to dusting with Calcium every day! Just dusting with Calcium D3 twice a month and your regular vitamin schedule.

Interesting.. did you actually see it crawling out of your cham's cloaca?

or do you see it crawling around at the bottom of the cage?

I would still find some phoenix worms when i clean Paul's cage. Sometimes, when the feeding cup gets wet, phoenix worms somehow can use the water moisture to stick onto the cup and climb away. Plus, these worms can slip into the crevices between.

O BTW, don't mix your soft bodied caterpillar with phoenix worms in your cham's feeding cup.
I did it once, and the phoenix worms gang up on the silkworm and start attacking it. They suck the silk worm dry like a vampire.

My two boys don't like phoenix worms. I think Jake ate a couple at 7 months and that was it.... I forgot about them and they dried up.

Yeah, I really saw the phoenix worms crawl out of the poop not once but twice. It was a fresh one because the poop was still steamin....lol. It think there was other members on the forum that had the same experience.

i read somewhere you are supposed to poke a hole in worms for better digestion not sure if this was phoenix worms though'
