Calcium and D3 HELP

Hi,

I'm having a hard time finding calcium without D3 in petstores around where I live and it seems everytime I ask people working at them for calcium without D3 they look at me like im an idiot.

They always attack me as to why no D3?! Telling me that you need it and that there is no use for calcium without D3. One owner of a shop went as far as saying that there is no suchthing as reptile calcium supplements without D3 and that in his whole life he has never had such an ubsurd question for calcium products.

I don't take all the attacks from the pet stores personal as most of them dont have chameleons and ones that do have them in small glass aquariums with other chameleons.

I just want to know what the reason is to use calcium with d3 on a much lesser frequency than calcium without d3.

can't help you with why you should give them calcium without d3, but I can tell you were to get some.

He's an idiot! Most reptiles get their D3 through the sun's UV, so people that keep their reptiles indoors use calcium with D3.

To much d3 is bad for your cham.......that's why only 2 times a month is good.

I keep my cham indoor and I still use the calcium with no d3 mainly....

I use the calcium with d3 about twice a month as jannb said.

So do I. I do take them out three times a week or so, though. Like Jann said, too much D3 is bad.

Do you guys know what too much D3 causes with chameleons?

Too much can cause its organs and blood vessels to calsify and ultimatly die.
