calcium/d3 rep-cal (supplement schedule)

I just got a veiled chameleon and am trying to figure out exactly what the proper supplement schedule is. I have the Rep-cal calcium d3 powder and that's it (so far, I will get whatever is needed). The consensus seems to be they need plain calcium, cal with d3 a couple times a month AND a multivitamin. Am I correct? I realize I should of had this figured out already, but I find it very confusing! I have a UVB lamp also, just so you know.

Correct supplementing depends on the type of chameleon, its age and sex, the type of prey offered, what you feed that prey, etc.

The Rep-Cal product has ALOT of D3 in it. That's fine, I use it myself some. Just know this so that you arent tempted to use it more often than about every other week.

Gutloading a large variety of prey can greatly reduce the need for a vitamin supplement.

In most cases, using one like herptivite a couple times a month will not hurt.

I keep panther chameleons, and sometimes blog a detailed listing of what they eat during a month - including what supplements were used. You may find it interesting as a sample: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/food-diary/

Thanks! I will get some calcium and a multi tomorrow. Our pet shop is small, but they do have a pretty good selection, I will order if I have to.
