Tickets are now on sale for opening weekend and there after. If you are not familiar with the Academy Check out this website. It is nothing short of amazing. I cannot wait!

I believe they are going to have a Chameleon exhibit. On their front page there is one sitting on the top right hand corner.

I am actually going to make a trip to San Fransisco just to check this place out in early OCT. Does anyone else have any plans to check it out.

OMG!!!!! this is the building i saw at the "impossible architecture series" at Natgeo channel.
I would looooove to visit.

I've been waiting for this for two years! I am for sure buying a membership. I also saw some of the concept drawings of the chameleon exhibit last year. They had the chams set up in columns of cages that stretched down a hallway.

Marc,

Thats too cool. I like the Cham on their home page that eats the bug. You have to watch for a bit but it happens. :D I originally heard about it from you in a post a few months back. I signed up for their mailing list as soon as I saw it.

I am planning a trip around it. I don't want to go opening weekend . I figure its going to be crazy and very crowded. I am shooting for early Oct.
Maybe two weeks into its opening. either way I am buying tickets in the next couple of days. It is well worth the 8 hour drive.

It's tempting to go on opening week but I am resisting. There will be a bunch of cool things going on and I'm sure they will give out free stuff. But I usually like to go to these things on a monday or tuesday. They are less crowded and I get to take my time.
I really hope they kept the chameleon exhibit the way they had it in the concept design last year. It looked really cool. Can't wait.

I was thinking about it....then I saw the penguins, now I HAVE to go! chams and pengys, my 2 favorite exotics together :D

The new penquin exhbit is supposed to be awesome. There is a video screen in the background that displays the artic.

The rainforest exhibit and the Amazon Flooded Forest is what I've been really excited about. I'm gonna get out there ASAP, but I already have a trip planned to Hawaii I need to handle first.

argghhhh! I'm contemplating whether i am going to skip one of my graduate class for this.
My gf also wants to go. We gonna skip classes for this. lol..
I felt like going back to high school.

She is studying for Master in nurse management; so, she is now convincing herself that this is a field trip for her studies :D:D:D:D:D

The grand opening is free admission, right?
