Can a chameleon survive in Phillipines?

Why not, they survive in Canada, UK, etc. The Phillipines is a tropical place and I would imagine it would be easier to keep the humidity level good. Just remember, you still need to have proper lighting, supplements etc. What kind of cham are you getting?

I lived on Guam - which is fairly close to the phillipines - and I think it would be an ideal place for a cham - Guam's temps were around 80 - 87 - with pop-up showers daily!

That's definately not a panther chameleon... It looks like a male flap necked chameleon.

That's definitely not a panther chameleon... It looks like a male flap necked chameleon.

Yes I agree, one look will tell you that is not a panther. Do a search for the chameleon you are being told you are getting and you will see the difference. The price difference is also something you might want to know. Panthers normally cost a lot more than a flap necked would cost. You might have a shop taking advantage of you not knowing a lot about chameleons. Look at the section under forums that is "General Photography" then you will at least have a better idea what you are looking at.

The real question is not if a chameleon can survive in Philippines, but can you provide the essentials to allow a chameleon to thrive?

As long as you can provide the proper housing, lighting, feed, supplements, hydration and a chameleon veterinarian, you should be able to keep one just about anywhere. If you can't do any of that, then it doesn't matter where you are, it's just going to be difficult keeping one.

One thing to keep in mind that a majority of U.S. keepers use screen cages and it's a mix with the Euro's between screen and glass for housing. I refrain from using the word aquarium because most will agree that is not the proper housing for chameleons (unless it has been heavily modified to allow ventilation). Being in Philippines with its high humidity, a modified glass cage might not be the best way to go. You will need one with good ventilation and I do recall someone else in P.I. saying screen cages are not readily available.

That graceful looks healthy, if its your first cham and it a fair price you should just get it instead of a panther. It would be a good starter cham. Panthers tend to cost more $$.

yes that is definetly not a panther. I agree it seems to be a graceful and looks in good health. He would be a goos starter cham to learn with. As for cages a screen cage is best and you should have no problem keeping a cham in the phillipines. Good luck!

140$ is the price of that cham so i should buy because its hard to find a pet shop selling chams

where can i buy a cage that is fit for 7 months and where can i buy supplies like UBV bulb, digital thermometer, vines and supplements?

$140 is really expensive for a graceful Cham...

You can buy supplies online. Reptisun 5.0 linear tubes are recommended for UVB and you need three supplements (calcium with d3, calcium without d3, and multivitamins)

That list is good, but you might need a bigger cage. I'm not too familiar with gracefuls but from the tarsal spur on the chameleons foot it is a male. Males I believe need a 2x2x4 cage (maybe I'm wrong...) so a bigger cage may be in order. You can't buy those supplies from her I believe, but you can on other websites. You just have to search around. I'll search and see if I can find a chameleon that can be shipped to you (non internationally) If I do I will post the link.
