Hi everyone! First of all I wanna say that I love this forum! What an awesome place to go to find answers to just about anything!! This my new Cham Beans. She is a veiled that I bought at petstore (I know, not the best place). I have read, read and reread hundreds of pages on Cham care. Research, research, research has been my game, ha ha. I have determined she is a female. And of course, I am worried about the egg laying situation. So, I called the petstore back and asked them if they could tell me how old she was. (I've only had her 1 week.) Of course, they didn't have a clue. Can anyone help me out on age and if she looks healthy overall just from the pics? I've only handled her twice since I bought her and I wanted to put her in my hand to give you guys something to judge by. I just have regular size girl hands I suppose. Any and all comments are welcome and thanks in advance for any comments.

Great! Thank you so much. I appreciate the thread links also. I have read 3 of the 4 already, LOL! She hasn't shown any signs of wanting to lay, I'm just a nervous nellie I guess. I want to take as good care of her as I can!

She still looks a little young to lay but I recommend setting up a lay bin in the next month just to be ready. If they don't have a proper place to lay they can become egg bound and die.

Yes, I definitely will. I actually had one in there over the weekend just to see if she was interested and she didn't even go near it. I definitely don't want her to become egg bound. I raise chickens also, I know that's not even close to the same, but they can also get egg bound. Does she look healthy as far as you can tell? I know there are many factors, but just from the pic? The pet store, of course, wasn't much help.

She looks good and a very beautiful little lady. I love veileds and the females are awesome with great personality.

Thanks! I think she is beautiful as well. She seems to have a great personality. Pretty laid back for the most part. I know for a fact that she was at Petsmart for at least 3 weeks because I saw her there once and about 3 weeks later went back and got her. So maybe that's why she doesn't seem to mind me being around. She is probably used to people peering at her all day... LOL.
