Other than the horrid (IMO) looking flexariums, the only ones available until recently were the Terry Thatcher mesh vivs. The new Repti-Breeze cages have come onto the UK market. Here's a couple of links for you:
However, if your house is cold and draughty then you may want to consider the Viv Exotic wooden vivs, like the one I use and modify it slightly. This is a good place for those (other than Livefoodsbypost): http://www.homes4reptiles.com/
If you are building use aluminum mesh, not nylon. Nylon and any other plastics will melt and could potentially harm a chameleon if they get heir toes stuck in it. I made my new cage out of old wooden framed window screens that I nailed together.
Search for epoxy coated aluminium mesh. It should find it. They say they only sell full rolls, but if you email them they're quite happy to cut bits and pieces off. It's good stuff and is the stuff I used!
Thats ok, miss Lily, We have decided to make our own home so its nice and big, I have a cupboard thats perfect it is just over 4ft high and 2.5 ft wide. And it will be nice and warm as its wood! so we are just going to put some mesh panels in it Thanks for all your advice
The best (and most expensive) mesh is V2A mesh. It's extremly stable and very save. If you put your chameleon outside a cage created with it you can be sure that cats or birds don't have a chance to get your chameleon. Aluminium mesh looks better than it is. I use it just for indoor enclosures
That's how it looks like: http://cgi.ebay.de/V2A-Edelstahlgew...ktenschutz?hash=item439aaf08b9#ht_1638wt_1165
