I usually order 500 half-inch dubias as needed, because that size has worked out most economical for my beardie (& presumably for imminent panther). Of course there are usually some smaller ones, and a very few larger ones, but never more than ¾".
Thing is... when I pulled a tube out this morning to feed his nibs, a bunch of really small nymphs shook out with the rest. I'd estimate ⅛" to ¼", and I bought these like 3-4 months ago. Most have grown, but none are even 1" yet, and no wings.
Is it possible some of these are mating immaturely or prematurely? I can't figure out where such tiny nymphs could have come from after 3-4 months. Or is it possible some of them were able to stay alive without growing?
Tis a puzzlement!
