can I feed fruit beetle grubs?

When I was at the reptile centre yesterday I noticed they had these rather large, juicy looking fruit beetle grubs. I wondered if they have any value as a feeder? I asked the shop assistant, who I know owns chams, & he wasn't convinced it would be a good idea. He said that they have pincers & I'd probably have to cut the heads off. I'm just wondering if anyone uses them?

Its a UK/Europe feeder so most on here wouldnt know. I've read they can bite so its up to you. I would try them myself if we had them here.

I have fed them to my ickle dragon, he did eventually eat one, but he was very cautious. I think a lot would depend on how big your cham is too. They do look good though, I was always tempted to fry them up in a little garlic butter!

ewwww, coating them in chocolate might work better...lol

I think I might wait til Neelix is bigger then give it a go. If he doesn't want them, I have a hedgehog whose mouth is already watering, he just loves to smear bug juice all over his spines...

Oh a hedgehog would think he'd died and gone to heaven! Steam it and serve with butter, just like lobster ;)
