Can someone identify this fly?

We had one show up in LTs cage about a week ago. We caught it but we couldn't identify it, and now there's another one. Can anyone tell from these pictures?

Have you been feeding phoenix worms? Those look like black soldier flies to me

no we've been giving him crickets, butter worms, and dubia roaches.

are soldier flies ok for him to eat? he looked really interested in it when it was flying around the cage

also any idea where they came from? :)

we have an umbrella plant and a draceana plant in the screen enclosure

Yes. They are fine for him to eat. Google black solider fly.

thanks!! not sure where they're coming from, but atleast we won't have to worry if he eats one :)

Perhaps a larvae got mixed in the with the butter worms or so? Always a possibility ^^ At least he will have a yummy treat!
