So I ordered a male baby designer cross panther from cbreptiles I’ve had him for a week, I can’t tell what sex he is & I paid extra for a male but they say it isn’t gaurenteed, any help would be appreciated
Can someone please help me tell the sex of my baby designer cross panther ?

Hi again! Since it is from CB Reptiles, it probably isn’t old enough to be sold, has parasites and/or another health issue(s), and maybe not the correct sex. Do you have an experienced chameleon vet near you (one with lots of reputable chameleon experience, not just one that’ll treat chameleons)? If you could post some pics with the tail straight out behind it, that’ll help! Sorry for the onslaught of unwelcome info! If you stick with us, we’ll help you through everything if you need it and provide unconditional support!

I will admit my son purchased Picasso from them (CB Reptiles) a year ago May - She is a "Designer" also so my son doesnt like me to mention that - He also paid extra money for a male from them and it turned out Picasso is a female and it was thanks to all the help from you guys on here to confirm that for us after many attempts to confirm with CB Reptiles. It was only after You all confirmed his suspicions of her being female did they finally say "Oh yeah definitely female" We made them return his extra money he spent for a male. Needless to say Picasso is doing Great - Happy, Healthy and my son loves her totally. My son explained what the Designer was supposed to be and he only went that way he said because it would hopefully guarantee would be captive bred and not WC like unfortunatly his first boy was possiblyExactly what I was thinking. Perhaps it’s some new sales pitch like when you go shopping for a car.

Was curious so I looked at their website:
"We have some gorgeous designer cross hybrid panther chameleons that contain the following genetic make up:
60.185% Ambilobe + 16.602% Ambanja +13.281% Sambava + 1.95312% Nosy Be + .58562% Tamatave + .39062 Maroantsetra."
I also got Buddy from CB Reptiles before I read all the reviews about them so I was expecting the worse when he arrived. I did order a juvenile though compared to a baby. Buddy seems to be in great health for the few months I have had him.

So essentially a mutt... If covers any crosses they would ship you. They are known for not being ethical in what they ship or the health of what you get.
I do not understand this idea that a cross is going to be better than a pure locale. Honestly I get crossing 2 locales but why the heck would anyone cross them that many times. Not only does this totally dilute the blood line. Which I might add the more we do this and lose Pure locals in the states than all we will have are crosses since Wild caught pure species are from Madagascar.
I have never understood the need to make something that is living "better" for human desire. It is one thing if in nature they cross because they are so close in proximity but we are going out of the box crazy with this IMO.

Unfortunately Yes and although my son agrees with everything you stated above he ended up down that path. As we understand that our purchase of one will just encourage them to produce more I can assure you that my son has NO plans of ever breeding Picasso and she is his only one! He may eventually get himself another one and make sure he does it differently but for now She gets all his love

I thought so yo but here it looks male, the colors obviusly look like a girl but it’s only 7 weeks old

It looks like a female to me as well since it lacks the hemipenile bulge
um it does not have any buldge here. so female. And these are perfect pics to tell because of how she is holding her tail straight out.
