Can someone PLEASE tell me what this is?! URGENT!!

I am glad it went back in on it's own, but going to the vet was the right thing to do. I hope your girl is past her problems so she can relax and be a happy cham.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers for my little girl! I'll keep an update on her progress. She's finally changed back to green after being solid black for a few hours!

Since your girl is wild caught chances are good she has retained sperm and could produce another clutch. To try to prevent her from producing fertile ova again I would not go over board on feeding and keep her warmer. You want to try to make things unfavorable for reproduction. This is hard in livebearers as the whole point of being a livebearer is the ability to regulate the internal growth of neonates and give birth under favorable conditions.

Carl, how many crickets would you suggest a day per chameleon?

Is sperm retention common? I hope to god I don't end up with more babies!! They're adorable, but I'm so concerned with what will happen to her if she ends up with more.

Also, she had an awesome BM this morning with perfectly white urate and no prolapse! YAY!!

Sperm retention is very common.

How much to food really comes down to how nutritious of a meal they are getting. The more nutritious the foods the less you need to feed. I think you'd be really surprised how much they really need to eat to maintain healthy body weight.

At the moment she needs a diet that is going to provide the essentials for muscle repair. Proteins and amino acids. Foods like dried egg yolk and almonds contain both.

I made a dry gutload from sandrachameleons blog a few days ago. I couldn't get all the ingredients but I added everything from her list that I had. I did grind up almonds and pecans into the gutload, as well as hemp seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seed, dried basil, garlic, basil, dried dandelion flowers, powdered ginger etc.

I mixed that into the shredded bug burger that I made, as well as cut up zucchini, field greens, and endive. Do you think this is okay for my gutload? She seems to have a pretty healthy appetite, so thats good!
