Just wondering if u can over feed ur chameleon. Max (6 wk old male veiled) has eaten at least 16 1/8 inch crickets 2day. I noticed he keeps wandering off near the bottom of the enclosure looking for more. Should I keep going or should I leave him be? Also I noticed that he has climbed down into the plants and has tried to eat the little white plant food things that are in there. Are these harmful to him and has this happened to anyone else? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

that could be fertilizer and no you do not want him to eat those!!!! You should have changed out your soil in the plants before you put them in your cage. GEt some organic soil or soil that is fertilizer free! You need to do so and then cover the soil with LARGE river rocks so your cham cannot eat the soil,. As far as over feeding a 4 month old the answer is not really. I used to feed about 20 crickets or so a day. They are growing rapidly at this age. As they get older you want to start cutting back on the food. They are not growing as much and you don't want them to get overweight.

I'm going to change out the soil now. I hope he hasn't eaten any of them. He has not done that since Ive gotten him. He's only six weeks old and I worry about him all the time thanx 4 the qwik response.
