Can you overfeed crickets?

I am bringing home my first chameleon tomorrow. He is a panther. I bought some crickets yesterday and made a gutload for them (one of sandrachameleon's). I also gave them some romaine lettuce and some orange. In my reasearch I have come across the information that it is better to underfeed the crickets than to over feed them. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on that. Thanks!

You want to make sure that there is never any food left over for a long period of time as it can mold, which can kill the cricket colony.

other than that, i dont see a reason for under/over feeding them.

i mean its a bug.. ;)

Depending on age. If a baby it is advisable to give as many as he can eat. If older they usually don't eat every day and eat less.

simple answer is yes you can over feed anything...and if you put extra in the cage they will attack your chameleon or cause stress...

lol :) I think it's better to put more food than less, or they might eat each other (I think that's part of the reason they do that).
