Can't stop young rebellious chameleon love, I guess?

I know no one will believe me, but I swear I didn't plan or want this to happen at this time (if at all). It's actually sort of bad timing, since I run the risk of the eggs hatching before summer break is over, which is usually when I'm out of the country taking courses or whatnot. But I'm keeping them cool to slow them down, hopefully.

I really did just want a pet female, or breed my pair when I could count on the eggs hatching AFTER my graduation in the Fall, but Azura and I don't see eye to eye on this issue! She is certainly determined every time she is receptive, and this time she bested me! She worked her way over to Daedalus's cage one day while I was doing a deep clean of the cage floors and cham room and didn't even see her using the Mistking tubing as a bridge to his cage. I was so busy reorganizing the room and throwing out trash/leaves/etc. that by the time I noticed they were half-way through the deed.

Kind of frustrated and worried about the whole thing now but I have 22 perfect little eggs sitting in my coldest closet, waiting to see what happens.

But who doesn't love babies, right?

Those naughty girlies know what they want! They can be very persistent! Amy would constantly try to get to Tommy whenever she was receptive. I bet Azura was feeling very pleased with herself having managed to outsmart you and get what she wanted! :D

Nature will find a way. lol Oh, and Olympia she will probably double clutch for you since this is her time to be bred. ;)

And of course we all love babies and baby pics!

Yes they do! I feel like she is always receptive, even though she's cool and on a strict diet. She can't see Daedalus from her cage but I think she knows he's there, so when she is receptive she just paces up and down the side of her cage closest to his, even though there are several feet separating them. This won't be the first clutch of eggs she's laid so far, I just worry that it's all going to cost her in the long run.

Oh my! Good luck. They'll be cute though. :) can't wait to see them. What cross will they be.?

Thanks, we'll need luck for the timing to be on my side! Otherwise my boyfriend will find himself suddenly taking care of a lot of tiny mouths lol They will be, if I did the math correctly 37.5% Nosy Be, 31.25% Ambanja, 25% Nosy Faly, and 6.25% Ambilobe.

Ugh, we'll see what she does lol Hopefully she doesn't lay many more, or many more fertile ones at least.

Pics you shall certainly get! I'll probably keep them for a little longer than usual (if they haven't eaten me into destitution) and keep 3-4 of them for myself, so there certainly will be mounds of pics.

They did it through a cage?

Congrats! Sort of? :)

No, I had all the cages open because I like taking care of cleaning all of them at the same time. Bad habit perhaps, in hindsight lol But I've done it all the years I've had chams, I just haven't ever had a receptive female in the mix. Everyone else stays in their cage and just watches me in distrust!

yea i can see it happening already. Cleaning both Ringo's and Angel's and BAM she gets pregnant lol

Anyways gratz on the eggs :p

They're like sneaky teenagers! lol

Thanks guys.

Here's a photo of the proud dad chasing after Azura when I picked her up to get her back to her own cage. He would have punched me if he could have, he was not happy I was taking her away!

I believe you!

Lily was the same way!

Sneaky brat crawled off her free range, under a closed door, across the hall, under ANOTHER closed door, and found Kink on his free range....

needless to say.... im expecting eggs in about 3-4 weeks.

Horny little brats!

That they are! Certainly horny little brats.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about seeing them all and picking out a few for me to keep.

tehe. I feel the same.
Im not happy they did it before I wanted them too. But well, now that its over with, may as well enjoy the soon to be babies!

Congrats! I think, Olimpia ;) I am super excited for you!! And glad that everything went smooth with egg laying etc. Here you can't keep your brats apart and I can't get mine to get receptive  You are sure to produce some super cool and unique kiddos with this match :D

Oh goodness. Lol. Little hornballs. Am i gonna have to get crafty and start building Trillian a little chastity belt? ;)
