Care for Panther vs. Veiled?

I looked around, but couldn't find anything. Are there differences in the care needed for Panthers than Veileds? I have kept veileds in the past, but getting a Panther next.

Yes there are a few differences. Panthers are from the tropical biomes of madagascar and require lower temperatures. 85 is preferable for basking spot with an ambient temp of the low 70's. They also require more humidity than veilds. Veilds are from Yemen and require a basking temp of around 90 and an ambient in the mid to high 70's. Veilds don't need as much humidity. They will do fine around 60 percent. At night both species can tolerate drops into the 50's.

Oh yeah, Veilds can also eat fresh greens, plants and fruit. Its uncommon for panthers to do this.

There are very slight differences as mentioned above but over all care is the same! I went from veileds and in to a panther after not owning for a while. I say go for it you would be able to handle the care!

Yea there is not much difference, keep the rh a little higher. I personaly think panthers are easier to care for than veilds, better attitude and they dont seem to have as much problems as panthers. Panthers also seem to be a much more mellow cham where veilds seem to always be pissedoff.

I am lucky enough to live in FL, where humidity even in the air conditioned house is not an issue. I keep Veileds and Panthers EXACTLY the same (inside and outside), with the exception of a slightly hotter basking bulb for the male Veileds. The outside guys are outside with no additional heat until the temps hit 50 at night with sufficient day time warm up. This year they have been in all winter due to the freezing temps.
