Ataraxia...I'm not against giving a dose of prEformed vitamin A once in a while if it could be needed! It could very well be that some panthers are more sensirtive.
As for veileds, because they are more omnivorous perhaps they can convert beta carotene?
Very interesting thought. Do you still have the article/study that was done on the 4 groups of veileds and uvb/vitD absorption? I believe they noted vitamin A levels as well. Would be interesting to read that again and see what the levels were and what they were using as a source.
Dr. Ivan Alfonso has had vitamin A issues with veileds.

for what its worth, I didnt either for more than a decade. Long-lived, healthy, successfully breeding animals (panthers) nevertheless.
Sandra you are an amazing keeper as well as the other keepers here. Your gut load along with your variety of prey items would keep even the most sensitive in check
