so my fiance got her hands on a carpet shampooer and has been ramsacking the house all morning. So my question is in my back room I have 3 snakes two leopard geckos two turtles and of course frankie my male veiled.. can i shampoo the carpet in there room with an exhaust window fan set up? It smells yes but its not noxious like spraying an air freshener..
Thanks for input! ;)

You can use many methods for cleaning your carpets such as vacuuming, washing the carpets with detergents or soap and shampoos. Bicarbonate soda can also be used for stains. But since carpets are of different textures and materials therefore, it is advisable to take the help of professionals. They know the correct chemicals and methods to be used according to the material of your carpet.

I get mine steamed cleaned with no cleaners and keep my chams outside the majority of the day while it drys. I'd be very careful with cleaners. I'd be afraid they could be toxic.

I'm with Jann, I'd move the chameleons outside or to another location preferably until you cannot smell it anymore.

You might want to cut the amount of cleaner in half for their room and do an extra "rinse" round.

Here's an article I found online about human children and carpet cleaners...and I think a chameleon is far more delicate than a human child when it comes to things like chemicals. http://healthychild.org/blog/comments/are_carpet_cleaners_safe/
