Carrageenan?

Does your reptile food have carrageenan in it? For a long time carrageenan has been used as as a thickener and emulsifier and believed to be safe. It is used in ice cream, yogurt, pet foods, cottage cheese, and soy milk to name a few. Studies and scientists are now proving that this preservative is not as safe as once believed.

Here is an article by Andrew Weil, M.D.

I thought this was interesting as I am into Organic Foods. Enjoy!

Thanks Tom, now I have one more thing to research. :) It does sound like they make a good case for not using it in foods. Surely they can find a affordable replacement - ah but that implies that they care doesn't it?

You got it....do they care or is it about the $$$$$. If you look at a lot of the food you have, Carrageenan is in a lot of it. Many Milk substitutes, like some hemp milk (made by Temp), coconut mik, and soy milk have carrageenan in it, which is kind of odd. Now it is turning up in reptile foods too.
