Catching the Invasive oustalet's chameleon in south florida

Yes, there are Oustaleti.. Specially in the LaBelle area (Northeast of Ft. Myers).

The F. oustaleti are not in LaBelle, those are one of the C. calyptratus populations. The F. oustaleti are in Florida City/Homestead (http://www.cnah.org/pdf_files/1713.pdf).

Most of these populations are on private property and people have been shot at trespassing to try to collect them and even just spotlighting from the road at some of them.

yeah it's crazy, just have to study the maps and find different entry points to try to be stealthy



Stealthy? That makes you more likely to be shot at. Besides, for the Oustalets, it's not the locals with guns, it's a Dept. of Ag. cops with night vision goggles you have to worry about.

Hi im new to sw florida and would love to go out herping down here for more than just cuban tree frogs and anols. Does anyone know where i can go in fort myers. Thanks guys
