This is just not fair. Last year I had tons of hoppers, this year there are just none to be found. David & I spent 30 minutes. Netted 7 hoppers.they say it is because it is so dry here.
The populations of hoppers can vary greatly from year to year. Last year here in central California there were many and this year my best spots have not produced. I still recommend captive breeding them that way you're not totally at the mercy of mother nature
