Pic quality is a bit blurry but I'm really excited. Baby #4 is hatching.. Woohoo!! I checked on the incubator an hour ago (the temp controls are a bit off and the cat knocks it around when she sleeps on top of it) and there was nothing going on. No sweat marks, no cracks, no movement and bam an hour later a lil green head poking out!! Haha to cute....anyways, thought I'd share :).

Veileds. First clutch we've hatched hehe. Only another 32 eggs left in the clutch lol.

Anyone know what the average fertility rate of a veiled clutch is?

The first egg hatched 1 day short of 7 months. Such a long wait! We have another clutch of 40 from a different female 1 month behind so I suspect they will begin to hatch in a few weeks as well ... Or at least I hope so lol

Well it's out and appears to be a boy! 2 girls and 2 boys so far lol. I was hoping for more girls hehe

Ah that first clutch. I was so amazed I spent way to much time watching them hatch. The mortality rate depends. On a lot of factors, but I would guess the average is losing between 5 to 10%. I always hope I don't even lose 1, I will hope for you to have that kind of luck.

So 5-10% of the babies die? Or the eggs just never hatch? Also...do infertile eggs go ad or is it possible for them to stay nice looking for months and months?

So how many eggs did you have total? Don't worry about that crap that some won't make it. My babies lived, so will yours.:):):):)

Started with 40. 5 dented and molded. 12 have now hatched and 3 have noses poked out lol so about 20 more eggs to go if no more dent and mold. Wooo!

Oh and this is just the first clutch. There's another clutch of 40 a month behind these eggs and another clutch of 60 laid in October lol.

So far all the babies are doing really well. I've seen most of them eat and drink so I must being doing something right lol.
