Cham constipated?

I haven't noticed my veiled poop in two days, is this normal? He normally poops everyday. Is there anything I can do at this point to keep him from becoming impacted? Thanks for you suggestions. David

Constipation..........

Young chams should poop every day. Older chams may poop every other day and be fine. Try a warm shower or extra misting. Is he drinking? Do you have any silkworms? Feed some of those can sometimes loosen things up. They have a lot of liquid in them.

He's about 6 months old. HIs temps are 85 to 90 in his basking spot and 75 on other side of his cage. I don't have any silkworms. I just ordered some but they won't be in until end of next week. He has been eating grasshoppers and waxworms. He is on a cricket strike right now. Would red earthworms help until I get the silkworms? Davi

Some times they don't go for a couple days. Usually the younger ones go daily, but from 6 months-1 year they sometimes go every other day or less. My 1 year old usually goes 1 time every 3 days, sometimes 4 days. My female the same age goes 1 time a day. Nothing to be worried about at this point. Just keep an eye on him.

warm water misting makes them poop!
Mist, mist, mist!!!
Don't worry about impaction yet....a couple of days is not a big deal.

Thanks for the info. I know how fast these animals can go downhill. I'll watch him closely. I have a 75 watt basking bulb on him but his basking temp stays around 80 to 85. Is this warm enough for the veiled? Temp on the other side is around 70 to 75.

thanks for all the info. I've been misting the crap out of him... no pun intended.... all day with warm water. He's never had a problem with dehydration before but I noticed him drinking water for about twenty minutes today after an afternoon heavy misting. I wonder how many chams the advice on this website has saved. It's an unbelievable wealth of information. Thanks again, David

Thanks for all the help! Cham no longer full of it

Thanks for all the advice! Must have worked. Found world's largest chameleon turd today! I'm saving it for verification of world's record cham turd. lol Thanks again. David:)

I overloaded him with water and he drank much more than usual. He is on a cricket strike and I think it was his change in diet to wild grasshoppers and waxworms that kink of stopped him up. Thanks for the concern! David

hey i want to see the world largest cham turd. Do you have the pics? :D

No I don't have any pics but it was quite impressive!! I would have been proud to call it my own!

LOL!!! I saw my younger cham unload yesterday... he was looking at me like "do you really need to watch me do this?!" soon after he finished he retreated to the back of his cage where he likes to hide...

lol... too funny!
Mine just has no class i guess..
he just poop in front of me knowing that i am gonna clean them.
I think I might have accidentally potty trained this little guy (if that even possible).

He won't poop until i put a paper towel under his trees..
and there he goes... right on the paper towel :D

Sorry to bring this off topic, but I used to have the opportunity to care for an orang utan baby (saved from hunters- and since he is taken when he was little, he need a rehabilitation be4 he can b reintroduce to the jungle).

My parents care for him close to 1 month before he can be transferred to the rehabilitation center.
This baby is just darn too cute! He was potty trained by the previous owner.
So he poop in the toilet.
One time I catch him pooping and i kinda laugh and say "ewwww" (I was still a little kid).
He got really angry and slam the toilet door shut  :D
