So it's been hot in the uk for the past few days and my Cham has become slightly dehydrated. His urinate has an orange hue.

I have an exo terra monsoon go off every 2 hours for 40 seconds, and he still doesn't seem to want to drink. Should I be concerned? What can I do?

get him a shower, you can put him in the shower with a plant or a branch and aim the shower on the wall so the water will bounce on him!use warm water, not to hot,not to cold!let him there for 30 min or less, and watch him

he should start to drink in 10-15 min!you can do this like 2 times per day!adjust the water flow from shower so it wont come to fast and scare him

What kind of cage do you have? If you have a mist sys, I personally don't recommend the shower, better to leave him alone on his cage and increase the time of misting. What kind of cage do you have? if water drainage is not an issue, I would suggest increasing the mist to 3m 4 times a day. (maybe 6am, 10am, 2pm, and 6pm).

I have a aluminium mesh reptibreeze.
I have a drainage system so that's not a problem.

Will increasing the time the system mister for encourage him to drink more?

I can't put the intervals above 2.5 hours as the humidity drops too low.

agreed.
Yes, more mist will form more drips and thus encourage more drinking.
Alternatively, add a dripper (even if it only drips for a couple hours each morning).

Do you have a dripper available for him?
I leave my monsoon on for 120 seconds every 2 hours. And i still hand mist 8 times daily for a couple minutes because that thing never gets the front and back and side of the cage that i feel need to be dripping in order to provide humidity

Unfortunately chameleoholic the system they have doesn't have a setting for more then 2 mins. Thats another reason i still hand mist. But i use the mister for times when i'm going to be working for 5-6 hours. There will at least be some misting going on without me there.

My veiled likes to be sprayed directly closing her eye/ cleaning them and opens her mouth to.catch some.of the.mist/ spray. She's so spoiled;)

Ok so I'm gonna up the time it sprays for.

I don't have a dripper, would u recommend one along with a mist system?

I agree with Sandra. My Panther doesn't drink the drops off leaves from misting. So I have a dripper in my enclosure running for 12 hours. I have tried many different ways of hydrating him, and the dripper was the only way I would ever see him drink.

dripper

You can simply poke a small hole in the bottom of a 20 oz bottltle and set it on the lid where it can drip down some plants.

I always recommend a mist system. Especially since I've purchased mine. I'm so spoiled with it now. I no longer panic when i leave the house for a few hours to run errands or go to work.

I would absolutely recommend a dripper alongside a mist system.

Ask yourself this: would you only give a dog access to water a short time every few hours? Wouldn't you think giving access to water for couple of hours several times a day would be better?

Adding a dripper to your mist system can do that for you.
