Cham Misting

Hey guys, What do you think of the ExoTerra Monsoon RS400 misting system? and also if I have a male Panther in 24x24x48 sized mesh enclosure with live plants how often should I turn the mister on along with hand misting? I live in Canada where it isn't very humid but my room is very warm.

I have the Monsoon and the timer for it broke after about 2 uses. I now have to turn it on and off manually but it still mists great. So if you can get past mechanical issues you should be fine.

I have that system, I love it! I origionally had to return my first one immediatly as the "nub" that the filter element attached to broke. I bought it from a local store and exchenged it for a new one. A bit of advice, only use distilled water it in, the mineral build up in those types of sprayers can clogg fast. I have had nothing but reliable misting for my female veiled. The scheduled spraying also helps keep the humidity more stable for her!

If your timer breaks, you purchase the cheap dial timers with 15 min spacers. Just set to go off as needed. The Monsoons seem to work great or complete failures. I was lucky and had two that worked. Distilled water will help, but not with the electronics. Crap shoot.

I have two in use now and I must have been lucky because neither of mine have had any type of issues.. timers work great..
the easiest and safest (for the chams) to clean the nozzles is to use vinegar... just let them sit in vinegar for about 30 min and it cleans off any build up and also keeps the inner part of the nozzle clean and open... I clean mine every month need it or not... haven't had any problems at all...
