My chams mouth is open all the time when he's in his viv but when I take him out he's fine.. There's no mouth rot.

then he is probably to hot in there. What are your temps, basking and ambient? Opening of the mouth can be sign of a Respiratory Infection but if he does not display this behavior when out of the cage then most likely it is a temperature issue. Also, what are you measuring your temps with...meaning what type of thermometer?

hmmm....a 15 watt housebulb? and you are getting a basking spot of 82 degrees? Where do you live and what is the overall temp in your house? Whatis the cage temp NOT at the basking point???

The cage temp is around 70f, I don't know the temp of my house.

you do not have a thermostate in your house? I thought all house had them??? Anyways, there is something awry if your chameleon keeps holding his mouth open IN the cage and not out. Is it everywhere in the cage or just under the basking light? What type of uvb light are you using?
