Cham not sleeping?

Hi, I have a 5 month old male veiled chameleon, Bailey. We've had him for about 4 weeks now and every night since, he would put himself to sleep around 8 or 9pm. Recently, he hasn't been sleeping. Or at least not that we've noticed. Whevever I take him out of his cage however, he's eager to go straight to sleep on my hand. I don't mind, but I can't stay awake all night while he sleeps on me. I just want to know if he's okay. The average temp. in his cage is about 75°F, and the humidity is usually at about 45% during the night. Any help is appreciated!

You need way more foliage and vines for hI'm to climb on. Are there any lights on in the room at night?

I turn all the lights out but I do leave a light on in the kitchen as low as I can, just so that if he wakes up at any point in the night and needs move, he can see a bit. But he's fallen asleep with a room fully lit before.

I don't think it would be a light from another room . Thinking you need more cover , hiding spots .

You say that he falls asleep on your hand when you get him out - does he do this in the day? When they feel threatened they close their eyes but sleeping in the day would suggest he is ill.

Usually when they fall asleep at night, that is it for the night. They usually do not wake up and move around and change postions, so you really don't need any type of light in the event he might wake up. It is possible that the light from the other room is just enough to distract him. I would not keep taking him out after you turn out the lights. Leave him be.

The humidity should be going up at night....what is it during the day or after a misting session?

Thank you for your help everyone, I'll make sure to get him some more foliage, and I'll leave all the lights off at night. Thanks!

No the humidity shouldn't technically go up at night. Considering no one mists their chameleons at night, it depends on the overall humidity in your home.
