Cham outside in AZ??

How hot is TOO hot to keep a cham outside? I live in Arizona and I realize the summers would be extremely too hot but what about when it starts getting into the high 80's to mid 90's. Also, it is dry here, so if it's even possible to put our little guy outside, would we just have to mist him more often? Anyone else live in AZ? or know if this is even possible?
 
I live in AZ and put my veiled outside in his sunning cage. I just always watch the temperature in his cage and hook up a mister on him and he loves it! Most of the time the cage is under the covered patio but since it is cooling down some now I give him a little bit more of the sun. He is outside basking today and chillin' in the mist!

Plus he will love u for putting him outside, you'll c sum beast color hopefully i did XD...give him good descent amout shade and sun
 
really??? so this is ok??? awesome! ok sooo, what if i dont have an automatic mister? how many times a day would he need misted? we work from 7am-until about 5:30ish, do you think it would be unsafe to leave him out there that long???? with no mistings?????

if anything, we could just do it on weekends so we could make sure he stays hydrated. how much is an automatic mister anyways?
 
I only put mine outside when I am home to watch him. He gets out about 2-3 days a week. I just have a one nozzle mister that you can hook to the garden hose and run inside his cage. They are only 5 - 10 dollars at walmart or someplace like that.

shit buckeye, hmm thats more like 15-25 min drive depending on traffic.

so far.

snooky,mandaryan and one other member are from the AZ..

temps range quiet a bit. i would focus on early mornings in the summer the heat can be quiet extreme.

be cautious if your chameleon is juvenile, they will be less tolerante of extreme heats.
 
You are a ways out there! I work in Avondale on 107th and Van Buren. Pretty close to you. I was in Buckeye on Friday. :eek: Maybe all of us AZ peops should get together sometime!
 
I am new to the forums and also in AZ
Litchfield Park to be exact.

I just got a Veiled from the show in Tucson and am kind of concerned. :confused:
It is really small and you can see the bone structure of this little guy. He is about a little longer than half the length of a chapstick tube. Is this normal?
He also appears to watch the crickets in the cage with no interest at all.

Actually I just went to check on him and get a few pics and of the three crickets that were in there the pinhead is now gone and he is licking his chops. :eek: So I guess he was hungry after all.

It was cool. I took my 6yr old daughter and she seemed to enjoy herself. I figured we would spend about 30min or so before she had the I want to gos but 3 hrs later we left. A ton of neat stuff there.
It is coming to phoenix in November 22-23 I believe. It will be at the AZ State fairgrounds.
 
Definitely a cute little thing! Just finished shedding? How much did you pick "tiny" up for? I hope it comes to Phoenix. Where did you hear/see that at? Do you have other cams?
 
Post card at the Tucson show. Gives time and date for the Phoenix show.

This little guy was $35. I should have researched them a little more, got carried away :eek:, I assume this was a good price. :rolleyes: but no problem as my daughter and I are fascinated with it. :p

That is a good price. Who did you buy it from? Did you buy a screened enclosure and all the "goodies" there as well or did you have all of that? I just looked on Kingsnake.com and yep there is a show in Phoenix!!! Yippee:p
