Cham stolen during the shipping process?

Drama is over. It has been a rollercoaster ride. The other party did get a police report and submitted it. It took paypal a few days to review it due to the holidays. A few days ago, I got an email from paypal stating that the ruling favored the buyer and that the buyer was to ship back my chameleon and I had to give a refund.
This all sounded like nonsense to me as he was claiming there was no cham, but he was supposed to ship it back!!!
I spoke with paypal and discussed the case with them. I re-iterated that it was a chameleon we were dealing with. I guess I spoke to the right person at paypal and she said that paypal does not deal with live animals(they will only make sure a package was delivered). I told her I knew that but I wondered how he was able to appeal the process. She said that that my buyer should not have been allowed to appeal. She forwarded my case to her supervisor.
Yesterday, paypal closed the case in my favor...

Great news. It would be a shame if an employee of the shipper stole it but with the situation you presented, I wouldnt believe it either. Glad it turned out well for you.

Glad to hear you didnt loose out on the appeal. But I have to say its a shame the guy/gal ISNT a member of the forum. Because if they ever forgot and posted pics of the cham in question. Bingo, youve got proof he/she is a scammer. Otherwise its going to be really hard to prove the guy/gal is a liar. Unless you know of other forums they frequent and can watch for pics or for sale ads for the ambilobe.

In the words of an MMO nerd "he got pwned" :p

Sorry this happened to you Lance, this is horrible to hear.

Damn Lance!! Sorry to hear about this mess!!

Let the record show , i have personally ordered a Cham from Lance and it was in the box!! Just as he discribed!! Foam insolation, shredded news papers, heatpack and the Cham in snake bag!

Great guy and seems very honest!

Lance , i don't know about any other Cham owners . But when you shipped my Cham , i opened it right at the Fedex Hub! Lil Excited:D! All the workers actually came from out back to see what was in the box. I opened it and he was good and they were all . I went back the to that hub the other day and they remembered me and even asked how the Cham was doing . Thats the kinda impression the experience put on them.

If i were you i'd bet $$ that he opened it at the fedex hub and they would remember.
Call them up and see if anyone recalls a person picking up a delivery and it being a Chameleon. Can't hurt.

You are so right. I did that once at the FedEx hub and now they know me by name. They recognize me as the guy with the chameleons every time I walk in there and they always ask me about chameleons. I like it because now I'd like to think they will take special care of my package when I drop it off.

hey Lance - if you ever get any loser trying to scam you again, send 'em my way. I got a little Italian heat they can deal with. lol.

But seriously, if you ever need someone to explain how secure your packaging is and how trustworthy you really are, you let me know. I LOVE Kukui and when he arrived, I video taped myself opening my package, so people can see how securely you get 'em in there. And, correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the styrofoam insert sit on the bottom? If someone were to open it from the bottom, they wouldn't be able to just "slide out" the cham and seal it up. They would actually have to remove all the styrofoam packaging, unseal the styrofoam, take out the cham in the snake bag, reinsert the styrofoam and seal up the box. it all seems like a bit much for someone to do. If you're a fedex employee, wouldn't you want to steal something as fast as humanly possible, to avoid detection? To remove all that and then seal it up with tape would seem like a bit much. Especially around the holidays, when fedex and UPS and all the shipping companies are notoriously observant about the packages enroute (although, as we've seen with computer monitors, once they leave the truck, it's fair game).
