I was just wondering what is the activity level(in their cage) of other peoples cams day to day. Mine is not very active at all:(, he eats, drinks, baaaaaaaasks and sleeeps, zzzzzzzz normal? I guess, boring me to tears, yes!I was hoping for some more exploring type activities. he is still fairly new to his surroundings, about two weeks, maybe he will be bolder in time?

thnx:) Fishfreak

each cham is different... Some will zoom around from sun up to down... Others will bask all day long moving only to eat, drink and poo... Let him work into his new home and give him alot of alone time...

He's not sleeping during the day I hope.
They are fascinating animals ... but honestly ... they don't do much.
Most species are ambush predators, which means they sit very still and wait for prey to come buzzing by ... they can do this for hours and hours.

It took my female veiled about 7 months to fully be comfortable in her cage and with me, recently she is always moving about the cage from morning till night, she seems to be very comfortable with her surroundings and just keeps moving. I recently got a panther cham aswell and he is still getting used to his surroundings....so he basks and thats about it, give it sometime and try to handle him/her as much as possible so it gets used to you and doesent feel threatened!!!

Just so you know fishfreak, not to offend dindy or anything, but chameleons are not a handle as much as possible kind of animal. If they do not want you touching them, it will stress them out when you constantly pick them up and hold them. It should be considered more of a trust thing. Let your cham know that your hand is a positive thing. Put your hand in the cage to put in food, water and to clean. Some will get the point that you are not trying to eat them and be okay with you handling them every so often. Others will hiss and bite at you til the day they die. It is an individual animal thing.

Don't forget that chameleons are a sit and watch animal. Handling should be kept to a minimum even if they do allow you to take them out of their cage.
