Chameleon Addiction

I was curious if there are Chameleon addicts like when people get one tattoo suddenly they realize they have 10 somehow.

Do some people on there have that case? did you find yourself
having one Chameleon then getting 2 and now you have 5?

Is there such thing as Chameleon Addiction? does that happen? do you get enticed to get more? and if you end up having more how do you become more economical?

I have owned many many different types of chameleons over the years. I'd say about 2 years ago I bought my first male panther. Here it is 2 years later and between adults and babies I now have somewhere just over 50 panthers and I have no plans to down grade. In fact I'm putting in a huge shelving unit this weekend that can hold 12 more cages. I WANT MORE!!!! I'm pretty sure this will prob be a life long thing now for me. I get so much pleasure and enjoyment out of this.

Oh and the question about how do you become more economical. You have to start buying feeders in bulk.
Figure this. If you have one chameleon you prob spend around $40 a month in food. And for that $40 you might get 400 crickets from the petshop.
Now add 4 more chameleons to your collection. But now you start buying from a cricket farm and you are paying maybe around $50-$60 for 2-3000 crickets and that's shipping included.
Make sense?
So buy more chameleons. Because it's cheaper. Lol

Mine was an obsession since I was a teenager. Knew nothing about them and could not afford them so I made the smart move to not aquire any. Then, it all started when I went to a local petstore and had seen a felmale/male jackson. I now have 5 chameleons total, I breed my own food (crickets, worms, etc.). My formal living room has now been turned into the Chameleon room. My office has chameleons pictures all over it, I wear clothes that have Chameleons on it more often then not. Is it an addiction? No I dont think so. It is a way of life.

Plans for when I retire: Build a green house specifically for my Chameleons. It will be split up for different species to accomodate the their different needs and environments. 4 years, 6 months until my last day of work. Not that I am counting.

I have experienced this. My husband thinks I'm crazy. I got my first in May. My second last month and will be getting my third soon. They are just so cool, I want them all!

My son got one a month ago I got mine a few days ago a male veiled and now I already want a panther. ugh this isn't going to end well for me or my husband Im thinking.

They're quiet, they won't poop in the hallway or eat his shoes it's going very well for your hubby. LOL
