Chameleon and River Stones

Hi,
I have a Panther Cham, Year old. He is very active and in great health and eats a lot. I noticed last night he made his way down the tree which I have in there and on top of soil I have river stones covering the soil. He tried picking up a stone in his mouth and I actually heard scraping noise which was rock agaist his so called teeth as he tried to grasp it and it slipped out.
Never seen him do this before but than again I am not home during the day. Anyone else?

Sometimes they will gnaw and chew on things for whatever reason. Speculation, is a mineral or vitamin deficiency but I do not know if that has ever been proven. Just make sure the rocks are large enough that he cannot swallow them.

Ok thank you, I supply him with calcium dustings and also vitamin dusting twice month, but ya they are large enough he wont swallow was just wondeing because I never seen this before.
