Chameleon Breeder Podcast

We have a very special episode this week with an interview with Dr. Chris Anderson. Once you have been around for a while in this community you start to notice his name in many places. He is a moderator here on the forums and the editor and producer of www.chameleonnews.com. He grew up in the chameleon community and is now a scientist. And he studies chameleons. That makes him a chameleon scientist. And that is down right cool! He is deeply involved in the conservation of chameleons and is a member of the Chameleon Specialist Group under the IUCN organization that monitors population levels of animals in the world watching out for danger of extinction. You can imagine the projects that Dr. Anderson has and is working on! If you have never tried a podcast before this is a great episode to take the dive and figure out. You can find the podcast on iTunes or online at http://www.chameleonbreeder.com
And if you aren't sure about this podcast stuff just look for the tab that says "How to listen" and it will guide you through the steps. It really isn't hard and it opens you up to a whole new world!

Luis Wiedemann joined us on the podcast this week to talk about his long term breeding initiative with Trioceros deremensis! With the three horns, sail-fin back, and mellow personality, deremensis is a definite favorite of mine. Listen in for a inside look at the species and a breeder that has dedicated the last eight years to establishing them in the community.

Episode 26 is about Shipping Your Chameleons! To help us through this process I brought on none other than Chad Brown from ShipYourReptiles.com to take us through each step. Shipping has always been intimidating to think about, but chameleons actually ship quite well. That is, of course, if you do it right!

Ep 28: Brookesia Leaf Chameleons with Luis Wiedemann

The Brookesia genus of chameleons. They are small, they are cryptic, and they are fascinating! Luis Wiedemann, a Chameleon Breeder Podcast favorite, comes back on and gives us a window into how to take care of these little chameleons. More so than just a another species of chameleon, these guys open up the ability for us chameleon keepers to explore and enjoy a full naturalistic environment with a forest floor that is alive. Bio-active substrates are an amazing experience and Brookesia are the perfect chameleons to get us started with them!
