Not meaning to sound ugly but if you can’t afford the vets for your chameleon, I highly recommend not getting another chameleon. All chameleons, male and female are high maintenance animals.

I do need to say though, that before you think about trying again with another chameleon to learn all that you possibly can about how to keep them and why things are done specific ways. The best source is https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/ Read all of the forum posts, ask questions and just learn, learn, learn. As you’re doing all of this learning, start saving money to keep aside for emergency vet visits. Chameleons are not easy animals to keep and their needs are quite expensive. Set yourself up for success. I wish you peace and healing.
