I apologize. This was not meant to be a consumer complaint, actually was a concern about the company. I was looking for a reasonable answer for why Jim / the chameleon company might have gone silent. I was hoping that someone in this forum knows him.

I appreciate the input and look forward to any advice for a newbie buying his first chameleon

With all due respect to Brad and the great job he and all the others do with this valuable resource, I wish we did have a section to discuss such things in an open forum. I'm not sure why we can't or don't. I sure hope it's not in the name of protecting site sponsors and the money they bring in. Regardless it's not my call.

I belong to many forums and some even have a section with the main forum for complaints and issues. It's there so that others do not fall prey to some shady seller or other member who is selling on the forums WTB ads.

Here is one I follow often as an example. They have a section call "Shady seller list"

That's a rule we made as a community over 10 years ago. I'm definitely open to discussing the topic, and I do think improvements can be made, but the feedback forum category would be more appropriate.
