Hello all
I just love these forums for help/information and support.

My 16 week old chameleon will only eat mealworms. I am using a cup to feed and have tried different sized crickets but he will leave the crickets and eat the meal worms. I have tried putting in just crickets and he just looks into the cup and moves away.
He is happy, drinking, shedding, etc but i am concerned about him eating only mealworms.
Any help / advice would be great
Thanks

Get rid of mealworms and get superworms. Better for him. Have you tried Dubia roaches?

I suspect if you stop offering mealworms and begin feeding a variety of insects he'll come around. They often get addicted to one type of food if it's constantly available, then will refuse it when they get sick of it. Rotation is key.

Chameleons are very smart creatures and wont let themselves die. They can last a week or more without food at all, just keep an ample supply of water available.
- With that being said. Take away all mealworms and only offer the new form of food you wish to try, crickets, super worms, roaches etc. The chameleon may not seem interested at first but he or she will come around and will eat what you provide for survival.

Have you seen "The Karate Kid" ? Well do you remember the scene where Mr. Miagi is catching flies with chopsticks? I love that! Any way my point is fish need to swim, tigers need to hunt, birds need to fly. Let go and just let the universe unfold. Remove all barriers. Take away the cup. Your chameleon will find what it needs. Let go of both of your fears, seek out balance, and know that to a chameleon, little juicy crickets taste like Kentucky fried chicken!
