Chameleon Has Favorite Place For Bed

Random Thought: Does anyone else's Chameleon have a favorite place for bed?

Mine chooses the same leaf on his Fig Tree every evening to fall asleep on. It's pretty cute.

I can tell when he starts getting tired, 30 minutes before his lights go off, he will start making his way towards the middle of the enclosure and always picks the same leaf to sleep on :D

It makes me wonder if Chameleons have a sense of "Personal Space" or place where they bunker down and feel the most comfortable/safe every night.

Kinda like how us humans usually tend to prefer our own room over other places in a house, because it's where our bed is, and it makes us feel secure.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

It varies cham to cham for me. Several of mine have a preferred spot they always seem to go to while others have picked out a few different spots they rotate around in. Odin has the most of them all with four spots he likes to sleep in so far though. Once he's in a permanent set up out of the quarantine type setup that may change though.

My cham sleeps wherever. She sometimes wanders the cage in the dark for a while until she finds the perfect spot (this happens every few weeks after she gets tired of her old spots). Sometimes she will really like a spot and then stick with it for a while until she searches for a new one!

Yup, mine always hides inside a cluster of plastic leaves on the back corner of his enclosure. It's almost impossible to spot him when he's sleeping because he hides so well! I already know, if I can't see him anywhere, he's in there sleeping :)

My nosy be used to shuffle around from place to place each night while he was growing, but recently after reaching about a year old he has kept to a very strict bedtime location! I mounted a small bromeliad on some cork near the front/top/left of his enclosure and now he perches on top of it (the cork, not the bromeliad to be clear) every single night without fail. It's so precious  Sometimes he'll head to his "bed" before lights out, but if not, the moment his lights go out he makes his way to that spot like clockwork.

My veiled just found a new bed time spot. He originally always went to a vine that ran vertically along the right side of his cage. Recently he has been on the left side on a horizontal branch that is under a few big leaves. 7pm every night he makes his way there and chilled until lights out at 8pm.

That is really cool! It seems like a lot of them do choose a sleeping place.

I'm glad I can come here and post random thoughts like this online with other Chameleon enthusiasts instead of annoying friends and family with these same topics haha

My panther male have two favorite spots, kind of at the top of the cage, and the other is towards the bottom on a vine with lots of leaves etc he can hide and sleep behind!
