Ok, thanks! It is so hard to not watch him lolJust sit in the room and ignore him as much as you can. He will eventually get used to you. Right now he sees you as a predator but if your in there and not pissing him off he will eventually say this guy is all right. What ever you do do Not try and force yourself upon him. If you force him on your hand and do stuff that pisses him off he will just be more and more afraid of you.
I would say you can watch but do it from a distance for a little while.Ok, thanks! It is so hard to not watch him lol
Just curious, how long did it take for either of your Chams, or anyone's on this forum to be more confident around them (cup feeding, not hiding, etc.)?I would say you can watch but do it from a distance for a little while.
Mine was like that too until last week when I took him out (on one of his pathos plants) to clean his cage and now he doesn't dig meMy new guy has never hid from me since the day we got him (only a week and a half ago). I have not attempted to handle him yet and, if I slowly place my hand near him he doesn't head for the hills either. Maybe my breeder handles their babies.....I dunno?
Mine is not real comfortable with me. If I am in the room he does not care but if I open the cage he gets a little nerves. He will still eat out of my hand but if I get to close he will let me know it.Just curious, how long did it take for either of your Chams, or anyone's on this forum to be more confident around them (cup feeding, not hiding, etc.)?

Hello I'm a brand new member and my little guy is 3 -4 months old and doesn't hide from me really at all. for the past month of owning him I've noticed how sometimes hell head the other way or kinda hiss at first but once he's grabbed on to me he does great going finger to finger and never acts timid toward me when I do handle him. I was wondering if this was bad at his age should I backoff a little? What's the best way to kinda ensure he likes to hang out of the cage? Is he always kinda absolutely hate the spray bottle?
Ok, thanks! It is so hard to not watch him lol
