The cage is way too big for this baby panther.
I would recomment cup feeding as well.
Remember to gutload your crickets.
Heat is too strong ... 150w way too hot unless.
any UVB bulb??
D3 vitamins is only supplement twice a month.. You will need a calcium WITHOUT D3 and a multivitamin. (so need to buy those two) theres three all together.
You don't need a heatpad.
u want a basking spot of around 82 to 88 so a 50 watt about 6 inches away will work.
also use calcium 5 times a week and multi vitamen once a month with D3 3 times a month.
nice, and good luck!
lol @ " I just got this chameleon, hurry up and tell me how to take care of it. " the random pink container of "vitamins" in your car is calcium, not the multivitamin supplement he will also need.... usually a good idea to learn as much as you can before you buy an animal, instead of buy it first then ask questions later.
In terms of handling and getting him to be a "friendly" chameleon its a hit or miss. Don't handle him at all (unless absolutely necessary) for the first week or two until he settles in (stress is a big factor in overall health, and more often then not handling causes stress). After this time frame, if he has still decided he likes people (and this can change) then you can work to handle him.
Sit close to his cage so he can see you, after he calms open the door, if he is still calm gently put your hand in the cage near him but beneath him (do not touch him yet). He might either run away, hiss/gape/bite, or crawl onto your hand. If he runs do not chase him, if he hisses/gapes/bites back off and leave him alone for the day, if he crawls onto you slowly take him out and hold him for a short period of time.
When I got my first chameleon I wa fortunate that she'll run onto my hand as soon as I open the door, but my second chameleon, though calm when taken out and when I am around, has to be approached a little more slowly and not as frequently.
Take your time, be patient, and pay attention to your chameleon's mood/colours. It'll tell you a lot. Good luck
chameleons arnt realy a holding pet, they hate being held and it stresses them out, only hold them if you realy need to! he looks great though, nice reds and blues coming through! need pics of cage!In terms of handling and getting him to be a "friendly" chameleon its a hit or miss. Wow. Looks like a little jungle. The bromeliads are nice looking.
The Dust you have that comes in a pink container sounds like Rep Cal Calcium with D3. You want to get some without d3 also for everyday dusting. just use the d3 twice a month. Then Rep Cal also makes Herpvite which should be used once a month. here is a link to some questions about dusting:
