yeah she's running around fine, i ticked her tail and she curled it up as normal then chased my finger around lol

Hopefully it's just bruised. One member here opened the door on their cham when it was on the floor and the back of it's body looked this way. Has she done anything, that you know about, to hurt herself?

not as far as I'm aware i heard a thud the other day when in my room but never through anything about it ?

hi yes she does have a laying bin, that was my initial thoughts that maybe she's egg bound, all this actually started just after she shed. ?

well her white stripe is showing through but she's still refusing to eat, it all started after she shed does anyone have any ideas as i can't get her to the vet till saturday :(

After looking at her pictures again she does look like she might have eggs not that it would have anything to do with her being black. How big is the laying bin? Have you read my laying bin/egg laying blog? You might find it helpful.

If she's full of eggs they might be pressing on nerves. The coloration of chams is neurohormonal (based on hormones as well as the nervous system), so if nerves are being impinged on it may be causing her to change color everywhere affected by the nerves - if it's spinal nerves being pressed it could affect everything from there down. Not necessarily the case, but she does look big, so it's a possible theory...

Hi thanks for the response, it has now started to spread to the rest of her body, I've had a little squeeze of her tummy area and can't seem to feel any eggs or the like, I'm so worried can't get her to a vets till monday.

I would try to find another cham vet or explain to them it's an emergency and see if they want take her today.

most of the time when a chameleon turns black in sections its nerve damage, this could be caused by anything, a fall, heat, egg bound, even eating a large meal sometimes can turn thier face and neck black. When the vets draw blood from the tail sometimes it will turn black. Most of the time it will return to color in a few weeks but sometimes it stays.

Hi i took her to a pet shop i regular use, he seems to think its a blockage, he tried a bath sort of thing to see if it could help her pass anything but nothing :(, i then rang the vets and they still said earliest was tuesday until i explained all the symptoms they then demanded i bring her in tomorrow morning :)

Hi just an update, she's been to the vets today she's egg bound and they are keeping her in.

Hope she'll be okay. Did they say what they planned on doing with her?

there going to try the oxy injections and calcium if that has no effect the next step would be surgery, the vet said although she is egg bound she is still very healthy and is the biggest female veiled he has seen :D, i have to call tomorrow but he told me we won't know for definite till monday if the injections are having any effect. was a lot cheaper then i expected too, for the checkup, X-ray, injections, 3 nights stay at the vets its only costed £60.00 but if surgery is required it will cost more.
