How long do chameleons live?

I would like to know all the species longevity please.

Please and thank you!!!

There are over 180 chameleon species ranging in longevity between 4-5 months and upwards of 20 years. You aren't going to find a list anywhere. What species are you interested in?

Chris

Sailfin

Please and thank you!

Jonah, Im interested in where you heard a species refered to as "Pygmy Buzzers"? Odd I've never heard that term before. If it is referencing to the frequncies of vibrations that chemleons use to communicate or show stress, etc, then there are many species that do this. None the less an interesting term.

I think that several species on your list have not been worked with enough to really gain a good idea of their potential livespan. And those that are extremely common and on your list could range in a set lifespan, several years in variation. Ie, one might say that the average lifespan of a female veiled could be 3-10 years.

A very bad pet store that i went to for fish. They looked a little like the Brevis but they were larger. It was reffering to when they picked them up they buzzed. I knew it was a stress thing but no one listens to me.

I'm asking what the lifespan is with the CORRECT and EXCELLENT care.

3 years? Thats a little short isn't it?

Please and thank you!!!

Petsmart usually has no idea what they are talking about. They are correct in saying about 5 years. 15 is unheard of. The oldest veild I have ever heard of was 13 years and that is just one out of all the members and that is very rare. If you can get your Veild to live between 5-8 years you are doing fantastic. Your crickets should not be your treat. They should be a main feeder and the wax and meal worms should be treats. Try something like silkworms instead of wax and meals. They are a more nutritious feeder.
