Chameleon Myths/Legends etc?

Perhaps the reason why "all the myths associated with chameleons are from Africa"
is simply because almost of the chameleons species are African in origin.
ie. can't make a myth about something that doesn't exist in your perceived universe.

Every culture has it's superstitions and cultural myths
It's entirely possible that these animals have attracted the human attention
due to their unique abilities (color changing, foot and body design, independent eyes/stare).
