chameleon not eating and trying to escape..!!

I hope your chameleon will be OK.
If the vet says it's not parasites please let me know!
Hi kinyonga, I don't know if I missed you or someone mentioning it, but he said that his cage is on the floor. I read chameleons don't like being low on the ground and the higher the cage is, the better. So maybe if he places his cage on a rack or stand where he is looking down on everything will help. About the poop, we'll you're one of the experts here lol

thx i'll try it

He is trying to escape his enclosure because it is way too small. Either make or find and enclosure that is at least 4 feet tall x2 feet x2 feet. You will want to take him to a vet and ask them to test his poop for parasites.Make sure you take in a very fresh sample. Put it in the fridge if you cant get it to the vet within 6 hours or so.

My chameleon has a 4 foot enclosure and its honestly still too small for him.He constantly wants out. Some chameleons are fine in smaller enclosures, or even ones my size. For others they need a TON of space. The adventerous sorts .I plan on upgrading my reptibreeze enclosure after I move. You can also make him a free range to roam for a few hours a day.

It's worth a try to raise the cage but the size of the cage and the height it's put at IMHO isn't why he isn't eating.

Hey!Pinworms are much easier to deal with than anything else!My bearded dragon came to me with them. She too had bad diharea, fortunately she actually had a low parasite load and it was only a five day treatment of panacure and she was completely clear. Not sure what medicines they use over there, put meds for pinworms are very cheap here. However, it is possibly for them to be carrying other parasites. Which more than likeley is why your Chameleon isnt eating. Only way to find out is getting him in and tested for others.
