Chameleon refusing to eat, super active and losing fear of me.

Help! My veiled chameleon has refused food for a while. He/she is also super active (more than usual). I say he/she bc they only have one tarsal spur in one of their hind legs and has a huge crest.

Nico has also lost fear of me and would climb on me whenever I attempt to feed him. Ever since our hornworms ran out (we would occasionally throw them into meals, prob one a month or so), he's been eating less and less. I'm super duper stressed about this. He's also been exploring the floor and I'm super worried. If any questions are asked, I'll try my best to answer ASAP

I'm experiencing something similar with my male panther cham. He's about 8 months old, has a 2x2x5 sized cage with lots of natural plants and climbing branches, I give him a range of food but he wants to spend most of his time outside the enclosure climbing anything in the house that he can find. He is fearless of people, will clamber onto anyone within range, and has been eating a lot less than normal these last couple weeks.
He is due for a shed but I don't think that's the reason. Maybe as he's reaching sexual maturity he's on the hunt for a female???

I don't have much experience breeding chameleons but have read this behavior can be related to looking for a mate.

Hi and welcome. :) If you’d like to post some pics of your guy and his enclosure, that might offer up some answers. I do agree that he may be at maturity where he wants to find a pretty lady to make some eggs with.
